William Wang

I'm a former AP Calculus AB & BC teacher and experienced tutor specializing in high school math and SAT/ACT prep. After teaching in NYC public charter schools and working with an tutoring company, I am developing a student-first approach focused on how students learn — skills that they will carry with them far beyond any single subject.

I am a recent graduate from LMU with a BA in Psychology. Over the last few years, I’ve built up experience mentoring/tutoring with time as a Behavioral Technician, in-school tutor, and the last 3 years as an afterschool tutor.

I primarily specialize in teaching Math-related subjects ranging from elementary level (all subjects at this level) up to Algebra 2. My approach to tutoring is finding ways to connect with my students, utilizing their interests to make our sessions engaging and personable.

Our Mission

In today's world, constant distractions from social media and technology have made sustained focus increasingly difficult for students.

Speedrun Learning was founded on a simple belief: tutoring should do more than help students survive school—it should empower them to thrive far beyond it. In this age of digital disctrations, we go beyond a mere “homework help” model. We prioritize developing lifelong study habits, the capacity for sustained focus, and overall consistency. We see these abilities as the foundation for enduring academic achievement. Mastery of any given subject is simply a byproduct of these behaviors.

Our mission is to develop students who are not only prepared for their next test, but equipped with the focus, discipline, and confidence to learn independently for their future self. By addressing the root causes of academic struggle—not just the symptoms—we help students grow into self-sufficient learners who no longer need tutoring to succeed.

Subjects We Teach:

Upper HS Math

AP Calculus AB/BC, Pre-Calculus, and advanced topics for college readiness.

Core Math

Middle school through Algebra II — building strong foundations and confidence.

Test Prep

SAT & ACT strategy, practice, and score improvement focused on math.

What Students & Parents Say

"My daughter had fallen far behind in math because her teacher does not explain concepts well, moves too quickly without ensuring that the students understand, and is unhelpful when they have questions. She became so depressed that she stopped going to school for four days, fearing she would fail an upcoming test. I reached out to William, and after just two hours of working with him, she emerged from her room smiling and ready to go to school the next day to take the test. Thank you, William, and God bless you!"

— Edmond, Parent of AP Calculus BC student

“Math is a subject I haven't taken in over 20yrs, and even at that time I wasn't good at it. Facing an upcoming CBEST test to become a substitute teacher, the math section was the only subject I feared would prevent me from getting this job. William's tutoring session eased my anxiety around this exam by offering clear instruction, and test taking strategies that will, no doubt, help me pass. Thank you for being great at your job William!”

— Todd D, CBEST Math Subject Test student

“After just a few lessons William has already helped me understand pre-calculus and calculus topics that used to be confusing to me. Overall he has been very friendly and upbeat and knows how to communicate math in a way that makes harder topics a lot easier to understand. I feel a lot more confident with u-substitution and integration by parts now, and we plan to do more lessons with trigonometric integrals. Highly recommend William's teaching and communication style!"

— Megan, AP Calculus AB student
